Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has inaugurated five new hybrid double-decker buses to promote eco-friendly tourism across the province. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also inspected the high hybrid double-decker bus. After the inauguration, CM Maryam Nawaz took a ride on one of the buses, inspecting its features and experiencing the service firsthand.
The double-decker bus service under TDCP was started in November 2015 during the tenure of former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. It was also briefed that academia, ambassadors, state guests, corporate sector, show business and public visit tourist places in tourist buses. It has been mentioned in the briefing that the route of three new tourist buses in Lahore will be from Qadhafi Stadium to various tourist spots. The briefing received that more new, modern and eco-friendly buses will be provided for metropolitan tourism across Punjab.
Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bokhari, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, MPA Sania Ashiq, and the Chief Secretary were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
